We are a mere few hours away from the announcement of a long awaited release from Samsung. The device that everyone has been has been waiting for is the Samsung Galaxy S3. It has been revealed that a supposed employee has leaked some specifications of the device.
It is rumoured to have a 1.5GHz quad core CPU with a screen measuring 4.8 inches and use Samsung’s famous Super AMOLED screen. The device is expected to feature an eight megapixel camera.

The iPhone 4S booms in enterprise
The Apple iPhone 4S is starting to hit some big numbers in the enterprise world according to data gathered by Good Technology. In the first quarter of 2012, the Apple iPhone 4S managed to achieve a 37% activation rate amongst all devices.
Being able to penetrate the iPhone 4S enterprise market is very important for Apple as it opens the gateway to a highly lucrative market that has traditionally been occupied by the Blackberry.
The device in second place was also an Apple product, the Apple iPad 2. This product achieved an activation rate of 17.7% for the first quarter.
Overall it looks like it will be an amazing and record breaking year for Apple.

iPad plans are taking off in Australia
Overnight in the US, Apple hosted an event in which they announced the brand new version of the iPad. The new version of the iPad is not called the iPad 3 which everyone had expected. Instead, Apple has gone back to the way that they named their iPods and will simply be calling the device the iPad.
The new iPad has a number of excellent enhancements which are certain to convince existing users to upgrade and convince new users to jump on board .
One of the best new features of the iPad is it’s upgraded screen. The screen will now have the equivalent screen that the iPhone 4 has which Apple call the Retina display. This new screen is capable of a resolution of 2048 x 1536. This resolution means that the iPad has a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch which equates to over 3.1 million pixels on the screen.
In Australia, all the carriers have announced that they will be offering iPad plans.

The new iPad is consolidating Apple’s dominance
The iPad 2 has advanced the tablet market to heights never seen in it’s history. Apple have been able to achieve this by not doing what others have done wrong in the past. In the past, rather than create a new interface for a tablet devices to make it suitable for tablets, they have instead tried to put a computing operating system onto a tablet. This has meant that the tablets have been extremely difficult and tedious to use and never really took off.
What Apple has instead done, is designed an operating system that was meant for touch screen devices. They have in fact, used the popular operating system from the Apple iPhone.
The Apple iPad 2 is available in many different flavours depending on your requirements. You can even purchase iPad 3 plans on any of the mobile phone carriers. The device is available in 3G and Wi-Fi only versions.

The Galaxy Nexus is making it’s mark
The South Korean electronics giant Samsung has combined forces with one of the worlds biggest technology companies, Google, to produce a new handset for the smart phone market called the Galaxy Nexus.
The new device will employ the latest hardware and software features and is sure to be a hit on the markets.
The device will be the first instrument to be carrying Google’s Android 4.0 software called Ice Cream Sandwich.
Google has written Android 4.0 from the ground up. When they created this version of Android there were a number of key things they wanted to address to ensure that the software was moving in the right direction.
The first thing they looked at was the interface. As many users of the iPhone devices would know, the iPhone has a very consistent uniform look across the board. This is not the case with Android devices and Google wanted to address this by creating uniformity.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 in Australia
Samsung are well known for producing some of the finest TV’s and consumer electronics available. They were less well known for producing excellent, enjoyable and fun to use mobile phones. In fact, this division of their company was a very big under performer.
The reason for this is that they never really produced a device that was innovative, sexy or popular. This all changed when they brought out the Samsung Galaxy S. It looked like a simple phone but it was packed with all the best features and made it a formidable force in the smart phone arena. It brought Samsung out of the hole it was in and back into the lime light. The Samsung Galaxy S was a great alternative to the dominance of the Apple Juggernaut.
They then produced the follow up phone which was called the Samsung Galaxy S2. This also has the trademarks of being another huge success for the company.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first device in Nokia’s Lumia range of devices. The Nokia Lumia 800 is the flagship device of the series and comes packed with all the best features available.
The Nokia Lumia is the first device from Nokia that will be running Windows Phone 7 by Microsoft. The goal of Nokia in their exclusive partnership with Microsoft is that they wanted to achieve some distinction between the themselves and the scores of other manufacturers running the Android platform. They felt the best way to achieve this was to partner with Microsoft since they felt that the Windows Phone 7 platform was a great platform but not wildly popular at the moment.

Draw something.. $$$$$
As with most iPhone users, you’ve probably downloaded a little game called Draw Something. It’s basically a game of Pictionary through the iPhone. They did a great job of duplicating the experience on the iPhone (provided people don’t cheat and just write down the word they are guessing!!).
The game was developed by a company called OMGPop who developed it over a period of close to a year. In the two months that it has been released, the app has been downloaded an amazing 35 million times. The real win for the company however, was when Zynga announced that it would be buying the company for around $200 million. An amazing feat for a game that has had such a short life.

Selling your life on ebay
Remember the story of the man who sold his life on eBay? it’s probably something we would all want to if we were in his situation.
The story is about Ian Usher, a English man who migrated to Australia with his wife. See the original story here. Ian’s wife of six years left him and he decided that he wanted to get rid of his life as it was and start a new one. To do this he auctioned everything in his life including his car, job, home and friends on eBay. Using the proceeds, he decided to travel the world and fulfil the items on his bucket list.
The adventures he went on included running with the bulls in Spain, cage diving with sharks and even having sex on a plane (mile high club). Out of the 100 items on his bucket list, Ian was able to complete 93 of them so far in a space of two years.
Using the last of his finances, he has now purchased an island off the coast of Panama and is building himself a home.
